Bayswater Consulting Group was founded on a simple conviction: that executive search in the alternatives industry demands a level of expertise, discretion, and commitment that most firms aren’t structured to deliver. We built this practice to be different — and to prove it on every mandate we take.

Why we exist

Our founding philosophy — and why it shapes everything we do.

Executive search in private equity, venture capital, and asset management is not like search anywhere else. The talent pools are small and interconnected. The searches are sensitive. The stakes — for fund performance, for portfolio company outcomes, for careers — are genuinely high. And yet the industry has largely been served by generalist firms that treat these mandates like any other senior hire, and contingency shops that treat them like a numbers game.

The best searches aren’t won by the firm with the biggest database. They’re won by the firm that actually understands the mandate.

We founded Bayswater because we believed there was a better way — a practice that goes deep rather than broad, that takes retained mandates seriously as partnerships rather than transactions, and that brings genuine sector knowledge to every search rather than learning the industry on the client’s time.

After 20 years working in and around staffing and executive search, the patterns became clear. Clients want a firm that already understands their world when they pick up the phone. Candidates want a firm that will handle their career with discretion and honesty, not just move their resume around the market. Bayswater was built to be that firm.
